GSM modem: What can you do if signal is weak in the room where your modem is located?

If the strength of the GSM network is to weak at GSM modem location, it is possible to use one the 3 solutions described below:

  • Deport of GSM antenna:

To deport the GSM antenna, you could use a GSM antenna extension up to 20 meters (depending of the cable shield):

 

  • Deport of GSM modem:

To deport the GSM modem (and its antenna), you could use a RS232/IP or USB/IP convertor device.

  • Combinig the both solution above:

In the most complex case, you coul combine the both solution described above to obtain the bigger deport allowed.
