FX30 Modem : Maximum Connections and Connection Management on an IP Modem
1. What is the maximum number of connections to an IP modem?
The maximum number of connections to an IP modem is 2. These connections can be utilized as follows:
- SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer Protocol): 2 simultaneous connections are allowed.
- SIP (Session Initiation Protocol): 2 connections are allowed, but only one call can be active at any given time. For SMS, the send queue is shared between the two connections.
2. Can the number of connections to the IP modem be increased?
Yes, the number of connections is limited to 2, and it is possible to increase this number for the IP modem concerned. To do so, please contact support services.
3. How can you identify who is using these connections on the modem?
The Alert platform does not directly show who is using the modem connections. To identify this information, you need to check the Legato logs on the FX30 device. These logs contain details about active connections and the associated users.
4. Summary of Limitations:
- Default connections: 2 (SMPP and SIP combined).
- SIP: Only one call at a time is allowed.
- SMS Queue: Shared between the two SMPP connections.
